Our Memorial Service takes place at Omanu Beach, Mt Maunganui from 7:00-8:00pm on Friday evening, 3 November 2017.
While the Memorial Service is a conference event, it is open to anyone who would like to attend and remember a baby or child who has died as this is also the Sands BOP BLAW service.
At Conference during Plenary Session 1 (4.45-5.30pm Friday 3 November, Trinity Room 1), we will be personalising kites. Each attendee will be given a white kite which they can write messages on, colour in, decorate, and draw on as a symbol of their love to send skyward to their baby. These kites will be used in the memorial service instead of a balloon release.
For conference attendees a bus will be leaving Trinity Wharf at 6.30pm for Omanu Beach. Local families not attending conference are expected to provide their own transport.
The evening will consist of a memorial service, kite flying and sand art by Carly Marie as the sun sets.
The bus will return conference attendees to Trinity Wharf at approximately 8.30pm.
